Left side of front panel shows Chinese calligraphy that translates, top to bottom, as “Dai / Chien / Chang / Painting / Collection” and, at the foot of that panel, the red stamp of the Shanghai Masters Arts Research Association (MARA). Upper area of the back panel shows a large woodcut-style stamp with characters translating as, on the left, “billion-fold universe,” and, on the right, “Dai Chien.” The English title of the book is printed in Fraktur in the lower portion of the back panel. Condition: Top and leading edges of text block lightly foxed. Damp effect ripple to pages of final gathering with some staining on page 127. Binding excellent.
