Robert Stark, Bookseller

A graduate of Southwestern High School in Hanover, Indiana, Robert is a voracious reader of fiction and non-fiction alike and an aspiring composer of music. He harbors particular passion for modern literature and genre fiction, as well as poetry. He has written poetry and worked on private projects in the science fiction and fantasy genres for years. His adoration of the fantasy genre led him into the world of mythology in his teenage years, and he completed a translation of Beowulf from the old English at the age of seventeen. His father, a long-time professor of theatre who has also worked as an actor and director, instilled him with a profound love of all things thespian from a young age. Throughout junior high and high school, Robert played with the Southwestern Schools’ band program on the alto saxophone. He is also (mostly) self-taught on the piano.

His favorite composers include Philip Glass, John Cage, and Erik Satie. His favorite writers include Philip K. Dick, Allen Ginsberg, J. R. R. Tolkien, George R. R. Martin, Neil Gaiman, Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, and many others.

Robert is currently on hiatus from Village Lights, attending the College of Wooster as a freshman, pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition.
