Saturday, August 14, 1:00 p.m. Special Local Author Reading/Signing – Jim Pirtle Two Pilots, One Engine On July 20th, 1986, Jim Pirtle and Schirmer Riley took off from Madison, Indiana in a single engine Comanche aircraft to fly around the world. They completed their circumnavigation of the globe, flying back into Madison on August 29th. Schirmer Riley was killed in the crash of that same Comanche aircraft earlier this year. Jim Pirtle will talk and sign their book, Two Pilots, One Engine, a detailed log of their aerial odyssey.
Friday, August 27, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. (Fourth Friday Art & Shop Hop) Art Opening Reception – Bonnie Peugeot The Expressions of Color Bonnie Peugeot is a visual arts teacher and artist. A graduate of Oakland City University and Indiana University Southeast, she loves expressing her passion for color throughout her work, from still lifes and plein art landscapes to non-objective art exploring beyond the barriers of color. Refreshments will be served. The exhibit will run through September 23rd.
